: Telugu Desam Party functionaries burnt flexis of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and former Union Minister of State for Railways Kotla Jayasuryaprakash Reddy at Visweswara circle here on Thursday, deploring burning of effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu by Congressmen yesterday.

Ms. Sonia bifurcated Andhra Pradesh for selfish political gains, drove Andhra Pradesh into a revenue deficit and left Telangana with a surplus budget, TDP Central Disciplinary Committee member Somisetty Venkateswarlu said. The UPA Government ruined Andhra Pradesh leaving it without a capital and announcing special category status and special package, he alleged.

The people of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana routed the Congress in both the States, Mr. Venkateswarlu recalled. He advised AICC president Sonia Gandhi, vice-president Rahul Gandhi and Congressmen to demonstrate before Mr. Narendra Modi’s residence at Delhi, as special category status was not in the purview of Mr. Chandrababu Naidu.

When the State was bifurcated during his tenure as Union Minister, Mr. Jayasuryaprakash declared that he woud quit politics and take up farming, but was now talking of SCS and special package, the TDP leader remarked.

District TDP secretary Y. Nageswara Rao Yadav and leaders B.A.K. Parvez, S. Dhana Reddy, Shabbir, J. Tirupal Babu, R. Suseelamma, P. Hanumantharaya Chowdary, P. Ravikumar, D. James and Y. Ayyapu Reddy participated.
