Supporters of TDP leader K. Chalama Reddy, who lost to YSR Congress Party’s Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy in the 2014 elections from the Macherla Assembly constituency, staged a protest near the Chief Minister’s residence at Undavalli on Wednesday demanding ticket for him.

The protesters asserted that Mr. Chalama Reddy had been a dedicated leader of the TDP and he played a key role in the implementation of various welfare schemes.

But, he was denied the ticket and instead it was given to A. Anji Reddy.

A TDP activist told the media that only Mr. Chalama Reddy could protect the party from the onslaught of the YSRCP and demanded that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu change his decision.
