TDP leader Sambasiva Rao to join BJP

Senior leader Chandu Sambasiva Rao has decided to quit the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He will join the BJP in the presence of Madhya Pradesh former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Guntur on July 14.

The BJP’s executive meeting is slated on that day.

Mr. Rao joined the TDP in 2004 and contested from the Duggirala Assembly constituency. He has been serving the party as an official spokesperson.

Mr. Rao has not been happy with the party leadership for quite some time. He feels that it was “unfair” on the part of the TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu to ‘ignore his services’. He worked in ISRO and NASA before joining the TDP.
