Telugu Desam MLC and party official spokesperson Buddha Venkanna on Tuesday said that YSR Congress Party leader Vijaya Sai Reddy was misleading people on data theft.

At a press conference, Mr. Venkanna said though the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) asserted that there was no data theft, the YSRCP leaders were repeating allegations only to tarnish the image of the government.

Excise Minister K.S. Jawahar, in a statement said it was ridiculous that Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy was talking about data theft. Many stalwarts from other countries, including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, visited the Real Time Governance (RTG) Centre and appreciated the government’s efforts. But YSRCP leaders were “uttering lies” about RTGS and so-called data theft.

The Minister said YSRCP president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and other YSRCP leaders were highly critical of the TDP government but do not speak a word about the Telangana government’s gross failure in conducting the Intermediate examination that led to the suicide of 21 students.

Other TDP leaders reacted bitterly to filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s attempt to address a press conference on the road, and Mr. Jagan’s tweet questioning the reasons behind not allowing the filmmaker to hold it.

‘Jagan has no concern for people’

Addressing a press conference near Grievance hall at Undavalli near here, party official spokesperson Divyavani condemned Mr. Jagan’s tweets in support of Mr. Varma. The film director has no knowledge of the life of TDP founder president N T Rama Rao and what really happened after the entry of Lakshmi Parvati in his life.

“Can Mr. Varma can make a film on death in Mr. Jagan’s family? At a time when Section 144 was in vogue, what made the film director to make unnecessary noises? How can he violate Section 144 which was in force in the city?” She asked.

At another press conference, party official spokesperson Sadineni Yamini Sarma said that Mr. Jagan did not respond to any matter which concerned people of the State.
