July 30, 2012 09:53 am | Updated 09:53 am IST - NIZAMABAD:

TDP politburo member and Rajya Sabha MP T. Devendar Goud has reiterated that his party has a clear stand and understanding on the issue of separate Statehood for Telangana region.

Talking to reporters here on Sunday, he said that only the Congress was preventing the delivery of Statehood to Telangana, for which it had even colluded with YSR Congress Party. He accused the State and the Centre of betraying the Telangana people with their selfish politics.

Alleging that some Seemandhra persons and corporates were plundering mineral resources in Telangana, he said his party would launch a massive campaign in all villages on the issue of Telangana. “The TDP will also launch projects baata to explain to the people how the ruling party leaders looted the State exchequer in the name of Jalayagnam.”

Mr. Goud said that so far an amount of Rs.73,000 crore was spent on project constructions, but not even a single additional acre of land was brought under irrigation.

Mr. Goud arrived in town to attend the investiture ceremony of the district Gouda Sangham.
