Speakers at the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) mini mahanadu held here on Tuesday demanded that the government withdraw the grant of 500 acres of land to the Vellore-based Christian Medical College Hospital (CMC) near Chittoor. The land was provided to the CMC during the previous Congress government.
The other proposals that came up at the meeting were rechristening of MeeSeva service as NTR Mee Seva, commissioning of industrial units in Chittoor division on par with Tirupati and Srikalahasti zone, issuing of licences for setting up of industries through single window system and speedy filling up of various nominated posts for the benefit of TDP cadre.
District Minister Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy, Chittoor MP N. Siva Prasad, former Minister Galla Aruna Kumari, Chittoor MLA DA Satyaprabha, district TDP convener Gownivari Srinivasulu and other senior leaders from across the district took part in the event.
Stalemate
Meanwhile, stalemate continued on the announcement of the names for the posts of TDP district president and secretary and other affiliated district unions of the party on Tuesday.
The previous Congress government had allocated land to the CMC
