Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Saturday that his government deserved the support of the Kapus, for whose socio-economic well-being it took a host of welfare measures in the last five years.

Addressing a delegation of Kapu Nadu, which met Mr. Naidu, Mr. Naidu said he was happy that he fulfilled the commitments given during his ‘Vastunna Meekosam’ padayatra.

He alleged that the BJP and the YSRCP were trying to divide the people on caste lines, and their evil designs should be thwarted. Kapu Nadu State president P.Venkateswara Rao said the community was indebted to Mr. Naidu for providing 5% quota, allocating ₹4,200 crore for their welfare, and setting up the Kapu Corporation through which steps were taken to alleviate their plight.
