A passenger who booked his ticket from Visakhapatnam to Chennai was puzzled when the tatkal booking went into ‘wait list’ within minutes.
“I booked tatkal ticket by the Visakhapatnam – Chennai Superfast express for Monday (June 22) on the previous day and got WL – 32. The berths were given up to WL-19 and my ticket got cancelled,” says B. Aditya, a native of Visakhapatnam, who is employed in Chennai.
“I had no other option but to try my luck in the Bhubaneswar – Chennai weekly express on Thursday (June 25). It showed ‘Remote WL’ and I did not want to take a chance. The berths for this train (return direction) are placed in the ‘General WL’ from Chennai to Vizag but in the ‘Remote WL’ from Vizag to Chennai,” he says. This highlights the need for an originating daily direct train from Vizag to Chennai.
