“Padma Bhushan Viswanatha Satyanarayana is a man of many great works. All of us should imbibe his qualities and take his works and principles forward,” said Vellampalli Srinivas, Minister of Endowments, at the 125th birth anniversary of the eminent 20th Century Telugu writer and poet.

The Minister, along with Malladi Vishnu, Vijayawada Central MLA, and renowned Telugu film lyricist and poet, Jonnavithula Ramalingeswara Rao garlanded the Jnanpith awardee’s statue and paid their respects.

“Today is a very proud day for the Telugu people and our literature. Satyanarayana was an exceptional writer and his writings hold important relevance till date. In the coming days, we will work to ensure that his birth anniversary is recognised and celebrated by the State,” said Mr. Vishnu.

Mr. Rao told mediapersons that the Padma Bhushan awardee should be remembered not only by writers but also by the media who should air programmes about Viswanatha Satyanarayana in order to educate the people of his greatness.
