A large number of villagers from various hamlets thronged the Tehsildar’s office at Ramasamudram mandal headquarters and staged a protest for over four hours on Monday, demanding suspension of Tehsildar Srinivasulu.
They alleged that the official was harassing villagers to issue passbooks and demanding bribes. Sarpanches and mandal presidents also joined the stir. SI Gangadhar pacified the villagers, saying that he would look into the matter. The villagers said that they had informed the Collector about the issue.
