The State government has restored the general consent to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to enable it to exercise its powers and jurisdiction in the State, by cancelling the confidential G.O. MS No. 176 issued by the TDP government on November 8, 2018.

G.O. MS No. 81 issued on behalf of the in-charge Principal Secretary (Home) Manmohan Singh on Thursday as per the provisions of the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act, 1946, paves the way for CBI to do investigations in the State without taking the government’s prior permission.

The TDP government had withdrawn its general consent to the premier investigating agency alleging that it was misusing its powers in the States ruled by non-BJP parties.
