Stage set for Pydimamba Jatara

October 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:43 am IST - VIZIANAGARAM:

Arrangements are in place to meet the heavy rush of devotees from across the neighbouring districts and Odisha for the annual Tholellu and Srimaanotsavam of Sri Pydithalli Ammavaru on Monday and Tuesday.

While the local municipality built make-shift toilets at all vantage points, deployed over 100 sanitation workers, opened drinking water kiosks, and illuminated the historic structures like fort, clock tower, Vanam Gudi at the railway station, etc for the jatara, R and B officials erected three-tier barricades all along the route from the temple at the Three Lamps Junction to fort on which Sirimanu is dragged on a chariot. As devotees have already begun arriving in droves, police stepped up security arrangements by deploying 328 personnel and imposed traffic restrictions on routes leading to the temple.

RTC is operating special services in the three north Andhra districts from Monday to Wednesday
