Stage set for global aqua conference

Big names in the field to attend the three-day event

As many as 100 stalls would be set up at the three-day international conference and exhibition on fisheries — ‘Aquabiz India-2018’ — to be held at the V.R. Siddhartha Engineering College grounds, Kanuru, from December 21 to 23.

Officials of the A.P. Fisheries Department, Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), are organising the exhibition.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is likely to inaugurate the exhibition at 10 a.m. on Friday.

The Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (CIBA), Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), MPEDA, NFDB, Epilent of Canada, Fisheries Department, National Centre for Sustainable Aquaculture (NaCSA), fisheries institutes of different States, feed manufacturers, pharma companies, hatcheries, packing and processing units and other stakeholders will arrange the stalls. Different varieties of shrimp and fish, infrastructure and ornamental fish would be displayed, the organisers said.

Experts to talk

Resource persons from different countries, experts in aquaculture and representatives of the Coastal Aquaculture Authority (CAA) will speak on ‘Sustainable Development, Technologies and Opportunities in Fisheries Sector.’ Scientists and students from AU, Acharya Nagarjuna University, Tamil Nadu Fisheries University, Fisheries College, Muthukur, researchers from Gujarat, Kerala, A.P., Tamil Nadu and other States will attend the conference.
