Upset over the Centre’s ‘dilly-dallying’ on according special category status to Andhra Pradesh, civil society organisations here have decided to take up the stir to New Delhi next week.
Speakers at a roundtable organised by the State Students JAC on Wednesday decided to step up the stir. They urged political parties cutting across the party lines to come together and stage a massive agitation to bring pressure on the Centre for the according special status to AP.
Students JAC state Convenor Rayapatti Jagadeesh said students from across the State would camp in New Delhi and press for their demands including constitution of a high-power committee under the Chairmanship of Governor E.S.L.Narasimhan to resolve the row between Telangana and AP, including the issues related to Eamcet, sharing of river waters and power.
YSRC State unit spokesman Bathula Brahmananda Reddy wanted Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu to lead an all-party delegation to the national capital for securing the sops promised to the State ahead of bifurcation.
