Commissioner of Labour, Employment and Training D. Vara Prasad on Thursday said a database of organised and unorganised workers across the State would be created, with the Labour Department switching its role from being a regulatory authority to focusing on the welfare of workers. “The process of creating a database will begin in a few days, and we intend to cover over 2.3 crore workers, so that they can avail the welfare schemes,” he said.
