Slain SI’s revolver traced in Mantralayam

October 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - KURNOOL:

The revolver containing five live cartridges belonging to Chikballapur Sub-Inspector Jagadish, who was stabbed to death on October 16 when he attempted to nab the accused in a two-wheeler theft case in Chikballapur, were recovered from the toilet flush of a private guest house at Mantralayam in Kurnool district on Sunday night.

The Karnataka Police, investigating the murder case, brought the two accused -- Madhu and Harish Babu -- to Mantralayam and at their behest, recovered the firearm of the slain SI, which was wrapped in a plastic bag and hidden in the toilet flush. The two accused had come to Mantralayam after committing the crime and had checked into a private guest house.

They got their heads tonsured and left Mantralayam on October 18 without either checking out of the guest house or returning the keys to the guest house keepers, Assistant Sub-Inspector Suresh said.

The two were nabbed by the Karnataka Police in Nagpur, Maharashtra on October 19.
