A delegation from a Singapore architecture firm aided by local resource persons visited various places in the town on Saturday.
The delegation visited Asia’s biggest chilli yard, railway station, a couple of cold storages and a ginning mill on the Guntur-Chilakaluripet highway. Guntur Revenue Divisional Officer M. Bhaskar Naidu accompanied the delegation. Earlier, the members called on Joint Collector Ch. Sridhar at his office, who briefed them about the topography of Guntur town and the surrounding villages.
On Friday, the delegation comprising Francis, Dilip, Jeffery and a representative from Andhra Pradesh Raghunath Babu, had toured Thullur and Amaravathi. They visited Dhanya Buddha project at Amaravathi and sought to know about the project.
The delegation also sought information about the storage levels at Prakasam Barrage and the water availability for the new capital region.
Naidu to make aerial visit
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will undertake a whirlwind tour of Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati on January 13. Mr. Naidu will accompany Singapore Trade and Industry Minister S. Iswaran to take up aerial survey of the capital region. Mr. Iswaran will meet industrialists after the survey. Mr. Naidu will also attend a programme in Visakhapatnam. Later in the evening he will fly to Tirupati to launch “Sankranthi sambaralu”.
