A seven-tier security system is in place for the ‘Maha Sankalpam’, being held opposite Acharya Nagarjuna University, on Monday to mark the completion of one year in office by the State Government.
The government would take ‘Maha Sankalpam’ at the same venue where Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu was sworn in on June 8 last year.
Elaborate arrangements are underway where the Chief Minister will address a massive congregation of people from across the State. With a day to go for the event, police have taken complete control of the venue and the surroundings.
Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, along with several Union Ministers and Ministers of the State Cabinet would attend the meeting, where he is expected to give a progress report on the achievements of his government and the future path to development. As the model code of conduct is in progress due to MLC polls, the Chief Minister may not announce any fresh sops.
Inspector General of Police, South Coastal Range, N. Sanjay said the entire venue has been divided into six sectors and each six sector would be manned by an IPS officer. Security arrangements were unprecedented with a total force of 8,950 officers and men deployed for the event.
Eight SPs, three ASPs, 13 Additional SPs, 13 DSPs, 327 CI, 706 SI and ASI 1,455 besides constables were being deployed for the event. The entire venue spread across 40 acres has been sanitized and CC TV cameras were being used.
Municipal Commissioner, Guntur, K. Kanna Babu, who is overseeing the arrangements, said that vehicles coming from Guntur would be parked at IJM Lingamneni complex, while vehicles coming from Vijayawada would be parked besides Kaza toll gate. The Medical and Health department has set up 15 medical camps at the venue and at ANU.

Meanwhile, Chief Secretary I Y R Krishna Rao and Advisor (Communications), Parakala Prabhakar held a video conference with district collectors on the arrangements being made for the massive public meeting
With nearly four lakh people expected to attend the event, the Chief Secretary suggested to district collectors to appoint a senior level liaison officer to coordinate with route officers and ensure proper arrangements were made. He also asked all collectors to keep Guntur collector informed on the developments in each of their districts.
Dr. Prabhakar asked the Collectors to set up control room and ensure that only buses in good condition were allowed to transport people.
DGP, Ramudu, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Satish Chandra and Information and Public Relations Commissioner N V Ramana Reddy and other officials were present.
