Sell pickles, make money

Business is all about branding, say modern-day economists. But, there are certain products which which are sold like hot cakes without any special marketing thrust. ‘Patha Chintakaya Pachhadi’ is one such delicacy which can mint money not only in AP but beyond the boundaries as well. “Give a feel of its taste to foreigners they will not forget it. Pizzas and burgers are of the recent entries in India but our ‘Patha Chintakaya Pachhadi’ has satisfied the palate for several generations. Make the best use of it,” Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu counselled women entrepreneurs in a two-day seminar organised by the Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of AP. That’s the kind of ‘celebrity status’ our ‘chintakaya pachhadi’, ‘aavakaya’ and ‘maagaya’ etc. have achieved for time immemorial.

No local

questions please!

The bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh has necessitated change in the mind set of the denizens and the representatives of Fourth Estate are not an exception.

For the pen-pushers who were earlier meeting local corporators, MLAs and MPs are now regularly meeting State and National-level leaders along with top bureaucrats as Vijayawada has been chosen as temporary capital of navya Andhra Pradesh.

Scribes recently shocked the CPI national secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy asking him local questions for which the affable Red leader mildly admonished them by advising them to elicit information from the local comrades.

No space for

police setup

Like other departments, the police department too is facing hurdles to shift to AP from Hyderabad. However, police bosses are saying that there was no sufficient land to set up their offices in the proposed capital region. Asked when police are planning to operate from AP, DGP J.V. Ramudu cited the same (land) problem coupled with financial issue. “You (media) know everything, but you are still asking usIt may take some time to shift the police administration,” Mr. Ramudu said.
