For the second consecutive working day, Secretariat Seemandhra Employees boycotted their duties demanding that the Centre take back its decision on State bifurcation.

The employees led by Secretariat Seemandhra Employees Forum took out a rally and staged dharnas in front of the Chief Minister’s block besides the Secretariat entrance and in front of D Block.

Though the employees’ main demand pertained to the status of Hyderabad, they said there was no change in their stand for a united State. Their agitation will continue till the Centre takes back its decision. If the division becomes inevitable, the Centre should give clarity on the status of Hyderabad, water and revenue sharing, employees, their rights and security. The tone and tenor of TRS president K.Chandrasekhara Rao, who said that if Andhra employees did not go back to their region, then there was no use of a Telangana State, indicated the situation after the State formation.

All out efforts are being made by leaders like Mr. Chandrasekhara Rao to create a sense of insecurity among the Seemandhra employees who had been residing in Hyderabad for decades and had made it their home. Hyderabad belonged to all and it emerged as the hub of education, business and employment in both government and private sectors for people in all the three regions of the State. Seemandhra employees played a significant role in the growth of Hyderabad and they will not be cowed down with KCR’s threats. The Central government employees working in Hyderabad will also participate in the agitation, Forum leaders said.
