A case under Section 3 (1) (ZC) of SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Act 2015 was booked against Kurnool District Revenue Officer G.S. Gangadhar Goud, Administrative Officer Venkatanarayana and two revenue employees Lokeswar Reddy and Ramalakshmi, all working in the Kurnool Collectorate.

The Kurnool III Town police registered the case on a complaint lodged with A. Ravikrishna, SP, by a former member of the District Vigilance and Monitoring Committee, M. Giri, alleging that two revenue employees Sunil Raj and Rajesh, who belonged to the Scheduled Castes, were denied promotions based on their seniority. Mr. Giri, who is the convener of the SC/ST Atrocity Protection Forum, alleged that the revenue employees had violated Rule 33 of the Subordinate Rules which stipulated that seniority must be considered from the date of the first appointment.

The employees were appointed in 2013 and were regularised in 2015, but their seniority was considered from 2015 in the promotion list, he told the media here. Forum co-conveners Y. Bhaskar Kumar, M.P. Barnabas, Chandrudu and Sudhakar were present.
