The indefinite fast of Volga Archery Academy chief coach Cherukuri Satyanarayana and his wife Ch. Krishna Kumari entered the third day with several sports personalities, politicians, government officials and players visiting the Government General Hospital and offering their support.

SAAP Chairman P. Ankamma Chowdary, Chess Grandmaster and Arjuna Awardee Koneru Humpy, her father Dronacharya Koneru Ashok, TDP senior leader Katragadda Nagamalleswara Rao, SRR & CVR College principal Velaga Joshi, SRR & CVR College Old Students’ Association president Lanka Janaiah, international archer Mandava Rishita and others urged him to give up his hunger strike.

Commonwealth Games medallist Ch. Jignas, Olympian archer Mangal Singh Champia and Asian Games camper Sunendhu Roy expressed their concern over their coach’s health.

SAAP Chairman Ankamma Chowdary hailed Mr. Satyanarayana's contribution in developing archery in Andhra Pradesh and urged him to give up the fast for the sake of young archers who were training at the academy.

However, Mr. Satyanarayana said he was insulted by his former trainee. “Both Ms Jyothi Surekha and her father Mr V. Surendra insulted me and my wife and I seek their apology,” he said.

Mr. Satyanarayana, who was discharged from the hospital, continued his hunger strike at Volga Archery Academy and said he would decide the future course of action after discussing with his students.
