Officials of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught V.S.V. Rama Rao, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation, in Elamanchili and Kodur mandals of West Godavari district, when he allegedly accepted a bribe of Rs. 25,000.
The accused engineer had demanded the amount from one N. Subba Raju of Ubalanka village to record the work of a water tank executed by Mr. Rao.
The AEE was trapped while he was accepting the amount at his office in Palakol on Monday.
He would be produced before the ACB Court in Vijayawada, said the ACB officials in a press release.
