Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has not prepared any proposal to hike bus fares, according to its Managing Director N. Sambasiva Rao. He said the corporation has not sought permission from the government for upward revision of bus charges. He inspected Srikakulam RTC complex and conducted a high-level review meeting with officials of various depots of Srikakulam and Vizianagaram. “Though the RTC is in severe financial crisis, it has not made any proposal to hike the fares. We asked our officials to mobilise funds internally and improve occupancy ratio which would fetch more revenue,” he added. He promised to launch Wi-Fi internet services in all RTC bus stands in a phased manner. He interacted with passengers and sought their feedback over the services of APSRTC. .
