Fifteen persons sustained injuries when an APSRTC bus rammed a stationary autorickshaw on the Madakasira-Penukonda road on Friday.

The collision occurred near the accident prone Madakasira railway gate, where a granite-laden lorry had rammed a train a few days ago in which five persons were killed.

The bus (AP 28Z 1445) travelling from Madakasira mandal headquarters to Penukonda with 38 passengers, hit the autorickshaw after the driver lost control of the vehicle owing to brake failure.

Three in critical state

While eight of the ten passengers in the autorickshaw, which was headed to Adudakulapalli near Penukonda, were injured, seven passengers also sustained injuries.

The injured were shifted to Penukonda government hospital, where the condition of three was stated to be critical.
