Twenty seven red sanders logs were seized at Mondodikona near Jeevakona in the outskirts of Tirupati in the early hours of Thursday, by a joint team of forest and task force sleuths.

A team led by Task Force RSI Vijay Narasimhulu and Forest Section Officer Nagaraju raided the spot at 4 am, when they found some persons loading the logs into a cargo carrier vehicle. On sighting the team, they dumped the logs and fled the spot.

The woodcutters who had earlier painted the vehicle with the name and logo of a leading milk dairy and later a prominent pipe company, have now painted the logo of a noted tyre maker on its doors. The sleuths also seized two registration number plates from the vehicle.
