October 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - KURNOOL:

Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan will be the chief guest at the first convocation of Rayalaseema University (RU) scheduled for December 2, according to Vice-Chancellor Y. Narasimhulu.

After a five-year-long wait, the students of three batches since 2010 will be awarded degrees by the Governor. Students who passed various courses at RU between 2010 and 2015 should apply online for the convocation by paying the prescribed fees, Prof. Narasimhulu said. The university was established by upgrading the Post-Graduate Centre in 2008.

Nearly 2,000 students are expected to attend the convocation, while 13 students will be awarded Ph.D. Students who cannot attend the convocation will be sent their certificates by post, he said.
