The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has expressed concern over viral fevers prevailing in various parts of the State, and agency areas in particular.
In a letter to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, APCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy lamented that the poor sanitation conditions prevailing in the State had become fertile grounds for mosquito breeding, and that was leading to the spread of dengue, malaria and other viral fevers.
“The poor are severely affected by fevers, as they can’t afford treatment at private hospitals, while the government has failed to offer treatment in State-run medi-care centres,” he wrote.
Mr. Reddy also wrote that the farm sector was in crisis, as the input subsidy promised to farmers during the kharif season had not reached them, while they were yet to receive crop insurance payment for the previous year.
He also demanded that the Chief Minister ensure payment of the input subsidy of Rs. 10,000 an acre to farmers.
The poor are severely affected by fevers, as they can’t afford treatment at private hospitals.
