Pranab promises help for Telangana development

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K. Chandrasekhar Rao called on President Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi on Monday and thanked him for his role in fulfilling the 60-year-old dream of the Telangana people.

Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao, accompanied by party leaders K. Keshava Rao, G. Vivekanand, Manda Jagannath, Nayani Narasimha Reddy, B. Vinod Kumar and others, was with the President for more than 15 minutes.

He later told journalists that they thanked the President on behalf of the four crore Telangana people.

The President assured the leaders that he would support the comprehensive development of Telangana, and they could turn to him for any help. “Now, the formation of Telangana is only a golden-signature-of-the-President away,” Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao said.

A leader, who accompanied Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao, said the TRS chief shed tears of joy when the President complimented him on his determined struggle for 13 years to achieve a separate State.
