Prakash Raj to adopt a village

After Mahesh Babu, it is the turn of actor Prakash Raj to play a ‘Srimanthudu’ and adopt a village in the Telangana State. This versatile artiste has come forward to be patron to a village Kondareddypally in Mahabubnagar district, where he has already been into modern cultivation practices. Mr. Prakash Raj met Minister for Panchayatraj K.T.Rama Rao on Monday at the State Secretariat, and shared his plans to adopt the village through his Prakash Raj Foundation.

Explaining the programmes run by the foundation in Karnataka, Mr. Prakash Raj said he was using scientific cultivation techniques on his farm in the village, and wanted to adopt the village and support the farmers there.

A field-level survey is being conducted by the foundation, after which the initiatives for the village may be arrived at.

Mr. Prakash Raj expressed willingness to work hand-in-hand with the government for developing infrastructure in the village.

Mr. Rao responded by applauding Mr. Prakash Raj’s decision, and asking the District Collector Sridevi and local legislator Anjaiah Yadav to extend complete cooperation to him. He directed them to conduct a meeting to know the requirements of the village. He apprised Mr. Prakash Raj with various corporate social responsibility initiatives taken up in various villages.
