Prakasam ministerial aspirants disappointed

A section of TDP leaders in Prakasam district who have been aspiring for a Cabinet berth, are a disappointed lot with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu accommodating only Sidda Raghava Rao in the TDP-BJP ministry in the State.

TDP Prakasam district president Damacharla Janardhan Rao, who ended the winning streak of four-time MLA and YSRC leader Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, was expecting a Cabinet berth as a reward for bringing back past glory of the party in the district. Supporters of TDP farmers wing State president Karnam Balaram Krishnamurthy were expecting that the party would include Mr. Balaram, a five-time MLA and former MP, in the Cabinet.

Telugu Nadu Students Federation State vice-president Rayapatti Jagadeesh and district in-charge J. Chiranjeevi said Mr Naidu should make Mr. Balaram a Minister under the MLCs quota. Kanigiri MLA-elect Kadiri Babu Rao, a friend of N. Balakrishna and Parchur MLA-elect Yelluri Sambasiva Rao had unsuccessfully tried for a berth in the Cabinet.
