Power authorities vie for supremacy

June 20, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:43 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The decision by Telangana Energy authorities to relieve all the AP-native employees from the TS power utilities may have come as a shocker for the 1,200-odd employees who have been at the receiving end, but the issue has been pending with the authorities on both the sides for quite some time. A chain of communication between both the States since November last is proof of the fact that both sides have dug their heels essentially over supremacy in deciding the matter, leading to the present impasse. A writ petition filed by the APTransco in the High Court interestingly mentioned only part of the whole communication, leaving out the details of modalities proposed earlier for acceptance by the joint committee headed by APTransco.
