Polycet counselling begins

The counselling for admission into polytechnic colleges began here on Thursday. The process was inaugurated by HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao at the Government Polytechnic College.

The counselling is being done in the old method, wherein the students have to first go for certificate verification, which will be followed by web options and allotment.

In the State there were around 82,000 seats and around 1 lakh rank holders would be applying for them, said principal of the Government Institute of Chemical Engineering Mr. Demudu.

The certificate verification process will be held till May 23 and the web options from May 20 to 26. On May 28, the seat allotment will be released.

Meanwhile, the number of government polytechnic colleges in Visakhapatnam district has gone up to eight with the addition the latest one at Pendurthi. In total, there were about 32 polytechnic colleges in the district, including 24 private ones, said Mr. Demudu.
