The political scene in AP has turned murkier ever since MLA Revanth Reddy was caught red–handed by Telangana ACB, as leaders of TDP and TRS are involving in verbal attacks. Sharp criticisms by Chief Ministers N. Chandrababu Naidu and K. Chandrasekhara Rao have become the order of the day. The alleged comparison of the followers of Mr. Naidu with pet dogs by Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao further vitiated the atmosphere encouraging TDP leaders in AP to showcase their ‘Telugu language skills’. It is remains to be seen when this game of political one-upmanship will come to an end – albeit temporarily.
Red brothers
face acid test
It is not be an alien tradition in city politics to have members of one family representing different political parties . On Saturday, the ‘Donepudis’ came to the limelight with (Donepudi) Kasinath becoming city secretary of CPI (M). His brother D. Sankar is already heading the city CPI unit and his other sibling Venkateswara Rao was once active with the Congress. It is not going to be a smooth ride for the Red Brothers for they are leading their respective parties in city which are in dire straits. With the poor representation in council and Assembly, the Red brothers should come up with something new to attract the voters.
Practise before
you preach
The adage ‘practise before you preach’ seemed to be not applicable to the organisers of a State-level seminar on food processing . The organisers - (ACCIF)— appealed to speakers to deliver speeches in Telugu alone. But what triggered a murmur was a welcome speech of which 90 per cent was in English .
