Police look for more suspects in Katari couple murder case

The Chittoor police on Sunday searched the houses of some close associates of Chandrasekhar alias Chintu, the main accused in the Katari couple murder case, in various localities of Chittoor town.

The investigating officers have come to the conclusion that though the actual number of people who were involved in the crime were five, the number of those who conspired could be even more.

A senior officer of the Special Branch said the investigating team had in its possession a list of over 35 people who were close to Chintu.

“But, half of them were not available at their respective houses. Though all are not directly involved, some may be afraid of police investigation, the reason why they are absconding,” the officer said, adding that more that 50 people would have to be examined as part of the investigation into the case.

On Sunday morning, a special team of the Chittoor police thoroughly searched the house of one Parandhama, a close associate of Chintu, at Ganganapalle.

Another senior officer said the possibility of Chintu leaving the country was remote, as his passport had already been seized.
