Online healthcare firm adopts A.P. village

An online healthcare services firm, DesiMD Healthcare, set up in 2012 by a team of NRI doctors in the US, has adopted Angaluru village in Gudlavalleru mandal, Krishna district.

The village has a population of 4,000 and diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular diseases, besides issues concerning oral health and eyes are not uncommon among residents.

The firm’s founder and CEO, cardiologist Ajay Tripuraneni, hails from Angaluru, a release from the company said. The village has been adopted as a pilot project. Basic healthcare services with continuous monitoring of health for a year are to be provided as part of the project, which was initiated by conducting a health camp on September 30. Amarsai Trust is associated with the project.

DesiMD will, among other things, facilitate access to a primary care doctor round the clock besides creating and enabling online access to a personal health record, the release said.
