Srikakulam Collector J. Nivas directed all the officials concerned to conduct Grama Sabhas in all villages on Wednesday to identify beneficiaries for various schemes.

He said that the officials should understand guidelines for various schemes and explain them to the people during the Grama Sabhas.

The Collector also spoke on YSR Nava Sakam programme, designed to issue new cards for ration, pensions, fee reimbursement and other schemes. According to him, new ration cards would be issued for the families which have below ₹10,000 monthly income in villages and ₹12,000 in urban areas.

However, farmers who have more than 3 acres of wet land and 10 acres of dry land are not eligible for the cards. Monthly power usage should not cross more than 300 units in order to avail the benefits of the government schemes. People who own car will be barred to get the benefits.

Srikakulam ZP Chief Executive Officer G.Chakradhara Rao, DRDA Project Director K.Kalyana Chakravarti, Srikakulam Revenue Divisional Officer M.V.Ramana and other officials were present in the meeting.
