Now voters can SMS code violations to EC

The Election Commission of India has introduced a facility for voters to know their respective polling stations in the seven Assembly constituencies where by-election will be held on March 18.

Voters can utilise the facility by sending SMS to mobile number 8978973452 typing EPIC followed by space and EPIC No (voter identification card number) to know the polling station where they can exercise their franchise. Arrangements have been made to register complaints about violation of Model Code of Conduct by political parties/candidates and others.

Electors in the seven constituencies can send their complaints pertaining to violation of the Code of Conduct through SMS mentioning the place where such incidents take place along with the district name. The SMS, in case of complaints, should be sent to 7382621251, 7382621252, 7382621253, 7382621254 and 7382621255 and the identity of the senders would be kept confidential, Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal said in a press release.
