Noted writer Chetan Bhagat exhorted the youth to remain steadfast on their career path by taking setbacks in their stride as there would be no victory without a struggle and insisted that time management was crucial more than anything else.

In the development of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.), which made a fresh beginning post-bifurcation, the youth play a key role, he observed.

Multiple skills

Inaugurating ‘Nista National’, a start-up in the education, information and entertainment space, here on Monday, Mr. Bhagat said in addition to concentrating on their subjects, students should improve their inherent talents to gain the edge over competitors and be planned in their endeavours with knowledge acquisition as the broad objective.

He emphasised the importance of setting goals and striving to achieve them and cautioned the youngsters against becoming addicts to mobile phones. Parents should look beyond the prism of education and duly shape their children into persons with multiple skills.

Mr. Bhagat pointed out that he came from a humble middle-class background and he faced the ignominy of his literary works being rejected by publishers in the initial stages. But, he kept writing until his books became best sellers around the world, he observed, revealing his plans to write a book on unemployment soon.

Nista National CMD Sundara Chaitanya Anagani said competitions in English language communication and other subjects would be conducted to groom the youth for challenges in the job market.

Former MLC K.S. Lakshman Rao called upon the youth to make their contributions to the development of the country.
