An Army jawan N. Srinivasa Rao has gone missing while heading back to Jalandhar from the city about a month ago and so far there is no contact with him. He was posted in Jalandhar and was a resident of Pendurthi.

According to Pendurthi Police Station Inspector Surya Narayana, on May 15, the family members of the jawan had registered a missing complaint.

As per the family members, Srinivasa Rao had come for holidays and left the city in the second week of May to join back duty. He went to Delhi from Visakhapatnam and took a train to Panipat. He reportedly drew some cash from an ATM counter in Panipat and after sometime an unidentified person called up his family from his mobile phone and informed that he was completely drunk and was lying on the road in unconscious state and thereafter there was no contact from him.

The police took up the investigation and due to jurisdiction problem handed over the FIR to Panipat police in Haryana.

It is learnt that even Indian Army is following up the case along with the Haryana police. However, there was no progress and he is still not traced.

The family members of Srinivasa Rao are in a state of fear and apart from his wife he has two small children.
