The Department of Mechanical Engineering of NIT Warangal has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Central Manufacturing Technology Institute (CMTI).

CMTI Bangalore is one of the premier R&D institutions in India and it will aid the launch of the M.Tech programme in Additive Manufacturing at NIT. This is the first of its kind M.Tech programme in Additive Manufacturing. Students will complete their coursework at NIT Warangal and some part of the laboratory and project work at CMTI, Bangalore. On behalf of NIT Warangal, Prof. T. Srinivasa Rao signed the MOU and P.V. Shashi Kumar, director, represented CMTI Bangalore.

The MoU includes student and teacher training at CMTI on Advanced Manufacturing Technologies, R&D works and other collaborative projects on mutually agreed terms and conditions. This MoU may put NIT Warangal on a higher pedestal, on par with higher level institutions.
