Nine held on charges of cricket betting

The police claimed to have busted an IPL betting racket with the arrest of nine persons at Adavinekkalam village of Agiripalli mandal in Krishna district on Tuesday night.

The police on Wednesday produced them before a local court.

According to the police, the gang allegedly indulged in betting on the Chennai Super Kings Vs Sunrisers Hyderabad match on Tuesday and was operating from a shed.

Cash seized

The police seized ₹3.28 lakh cash, nine mobile phones and four cars during the raid.

The accused have been identified as V. Haribabu, D. Sudhakar Reddy, K. Koti Reddy, Y. Nageswara Rao, I. Ranga Rao, Y. Rajesh, A. Rama Krishna and V. Veeranjaneyulu.
