Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will unveil the much-awaited industrial policy of his government at HICC here on June 12 in the presence of corporate bigwigs, entrepreneurs and trade/industry bodies’ representatives.

The State Government has huge hopes on the new policy that it would give the much needed thrust to industrial sector growth in the newborn State. The State Legislature has already made an Act called TS-iPASS to support the new policy. The Chief Minister would personally explain the unique features of the new policy formulated after studying the best acclaimed industrial policies in the world and visiting Singapore for the purpose.

The Chief Minister held a review meeting with the officials concerned on Saturday as a prelude to the policy announcement scheduled on June 12. He directed the authorities to make the application forms available online immediately after the announcement of the policy.

A website on the new policy would also be launched on that day.

Stating that the government (TSIIC) already had a land bank of 1.6 lakh acres suitable for setting up industries, Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao assured that all infrastructure facilities to the industrial areas would be provided by the government itself.

The drinking water grid project being implemented by the government would also supply water to the industrial and drinking needs in such areas. An ecosystem would be created so that investors could set up industrial units in plug-play method, he explained. Shortage of power, the only problem Telangana has for now, has also being overcome with plans to increase the generation capacity in the State and purchase of power from outside the State, the CM noted.
