Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday set a target of winning all the Assembly seats and the two Lok Sabha seats in Krishna district. At a review meeting of the Machiliptnam parliamentary constituency, he told party leaders that the TDP should sweep the elections. The party lost two of the 16 Assembly seats in the 2014 elections.

The government took many initiatives to develop the district. The long-cherished dream of the Machilipatnam port had been made a reality. Infrastructure was developed in a big way. The farmers benefited immensely with the Pattiseema project. It was history as the farmers were able to take up transplantation operations in June in 150 years. The government could rescue farmers from cyclones in November. The Muktyala lift irrigation project was taken up. So, the victory should be a cakewalk, he said.

The YSRC was confusing the people with false surveys. It was afraid that the fact would come to light hence it was opposing the surveys being conducted by others, he said.

Machilipatnam MP Konakalla Narayana, Minister Kollu Ravindra and others were present.

At another meeting, Kakinada MP Thota Narasimham and his family members met the Chief Minister. The MP urged Mr. Naidu to field his wife from the Jaggampet Assembly constituency presently represented by Jyothula Nehru, party sources said.

Guntur MP Galla Jayadev and others also met the party supremo.
