Telugu Desam president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said arousing passions would not benefit people and appealed to Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government to cooperate in resolving differences and work for development of both the States.

Reiterating that both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were like two eyes, he said while supporting bifurcation, the Telugu Desam demanded that equal justice be done to both the regions. Conspiracies to undermine TDP in Telangana would only strengthen the party and 100 new leaders would emerge if one or two leaders desert the organisation.

Observing that both the States were equal to him and would have to work together, he said Telangana was developed during the TDP rule in the erstwhile undivided State and that was why Telangana was getting income now. Look at the roads, schools or various irrigation projects like Devadula, Kalwakurthy, Nettampadu, Jurala and Bheema, he said and threw a challenge saying he was ready for a debate on the issue.

He also recalled how the Patel-Patwari system was abolished when former Chief Minister N. T. Rama Rao was in power and freed people from feudal system.

Lauding TDP leaders in Telangana for playing an effective Opposition role, he said the party leaders gave Rs.50,000 each to the kin of farmers who committed suicide. “TDP leaders are there wherever people have problems”, he added. Although politically the party would uncompromisingly fight on behalf of the people in Telangana, the two governments at the administrative level need to cooperate with each other and strive for development.

Asserting that TDP would cooperate with TRS government in resolving problems, he said TRS needed to have clarity in the issue.
