Alleging that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu led the State into a financial crisis with unplanned debts and expenditure to the tune of ₹2 lakh crore, YSRCP general secretary C. Ramachandraiah on Saturday demanded that a White Paper be released on the “income and expenditure” of the State.
Addressing the media here, Mr. Ramachandraiah said, during the last four years, the TDP government completely ruined the economy of the State, besides unleashing regional imbalances.
“Mr. Naidu is in a hurry to hoodwink the people again ahead of the elections, and that is the reason why he is announcing measures that are practically difficult to implement,” he charged.
“Though we are not against increasing social pensions, we are worried as to how the government can pool up funds,” he added.
Mr. Ramachandraiah said SC and BC students were a worried lot with the closure of as many as 190 SC and 219 BC hostels in the last four years.
The Chief Minster lost his credibility by not implementing his election promises, one such being the ₹5,000 crore fund to stabilise the market prices, he said.
The YSRCP leader also alleged that the State had become a haven for belt shops.
‘Radha’s U-turn’
Referring to former MLA Vangaveeti Radhakrishna’s change in stand that the TDP was not behind the murder of his father Mohana Ranga Rao, the YSRCP leader said, “Mr. Radha has, on a number of occasion, openly accused Mr. Naidu of executing the murder. And now he is seeing a Gandhi in Mr. Naidu.”
