Mystery behind fire at Kaza solved

The Mangalagiri police on Friday cracked the mystery behind the fire in Kaza where paddy stocks worth more than Rs. 2 lakh were destroyed.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Guntur North, P. Madhusudana Rao said the main culprit was identified as Allamsetty Suresh, nephew of the complainant, Appikatla Muralikrishna. Paddy harvested in 2.5 acres was set on fire on the night of January 6.

Inspector-General of Police, Guntur Range, P.V. Sunil Kumar and SP Rajesh Kumar visited the spot and instructed the DSP to expedite the probe into the incident.

The DSP said investigations pointed to the involvement of Suresh who admitted to the crime.
