Musket, IED recovered by combing party in Saluru

The special police team has seized one 410-musket and improvised explosive devices (IED) during the exchange of fire with the CPI (Maoists) in the Ranasingi forest in Salur mandal on Tuesday evening, according to Additional Superintendent of Police A.V. Ramana.

During a press conference on Thursday evening, he said that the exchange of fire lasted for around 30 minutes and there were no casualties from either side. During combing operation at Ranasingi, some men in olive green dress fired indiscriminately with rifles at the police team and escaped into forest, he said.

On searching the area, the combing party recovered one 410 Musket, IEDs and remote control switch, electrical detonator, 30 metres of electrical wire, surgical equipment, five medical kits, five kit bags, two pairs of jungle dress, 12 pen cells, banners and literature and notebooks, Mr. Ramana added.
