Nuzvid Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) D. Vanajakshi, against whom the police registered a case under the SC/ST Act, had lodged a complaint against Congress leader Vakkalagadda Vijay Bhaskar for allegedly harassing her over phone.
According to the police, she complained that Vijay Bhaskar had made phone calls at odd hours when she was on leave and used abusive language. The Nuzvid police registered a case against the accused.
Vijay Bhaskar lodged a complaint against the MRO alleging she had insulted him over phone and urged the police to register a case under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. When the police were investigating the allegations, he approached a local court which directed the police to file a case against the MRO.
Nuzvid Dy SP V. Srinivas, who is investigating the case, told The Hindu on Thursday that Vijay Bhaskar had made calls to the MRO in March over a piece of land, located at Mirjapuram village. “We registered a case against Vijay Bhaskar two months ago and also against the MRO a couple of days ago. The police will inquire into the call details of both the complainants,” he said.
Meanwhile, the AP Revenue Officers’ Association leaders have not responded to the allegations against the MRO so far.
