P. Jaya Saikrishna, 20, an MBBS student, allegedly committed suicide and his body was found on the railway track near Dinnedevarapadu on the outskirts of Kurnool city on Monday.

Saikrishna, eldest son of Saptagiri Pharmaceuticals owner P. Ramakrishna and Latha of NR Pet in Kurnool, is in the second year MBBS at the Government Medical College at Anantapur. He came to Kurnool and reportedly told his parents that he could not bear with the study pressure and would discontinue the course.

His father persuaded him to concentrate on studies and sent him by bus to Anantapur on Sunday evening.

He told his mother that night that he was watching cricket on television, but his body was found on the railway track. Kurnool railway police inspected the body and alerted his parents from his mobile phone. Railway police registered a case and are investigating.
